Eddie ‘Joe’ Holson, 93, of Olney, passed away at 4:50 PM on Saturday, October 8, 2022 at Carle Richland Memorial Hospital in Olney.
Visitation will be from 12-1 PM on Friday, October 14, 2022 in the chapel of Thrasher Family Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 1 PM. Burial will be at St. Joseph Catholic Church Cemetery in Olney.
Joe was born on January 24, 1929 in St. Francisville, the son of Clyde "Red" and Opal (Moody) Holson.
He joined the United States Army in 1950 and fought in the Korean War Conflict. After being honorably discharged, he became a pipefitter. He enjoyed his job many years before his retirement. He was a member of the Pipefitters Union, Olney Elks, Olney VFW, and Olney American Legion. He was a social man who enjoyed going to the P-Club to play cards, mushroom hunting, and wood working. He enjoyed traveling with his wife throughout the years.
Joe leaves behind his wife of 19 years Pat Holson of Olney; 3 step-daughters, Mary Beth Hudson (Tom) of Vandalia, Kim Ivy (John) of Olney and Daun Parker (Kevin) of Olney; 4 grandchildren, Stacey Hudson, Amanda Tucker, Taylor Hord, and Kellie Parker; great-granddaughter Sophia Tucker; brother-in-law Ken Decker; niece Tammy Brown; nephews Fritz Rather (Joyce), Bruce Rather (Sandy), Ted Decker
He is preceded in death by his parents, first wife Betty Jones, sister Marian and her husband Wally Rather, sister Sue Decker.
